About us
VDM Architects was established by Dawid and Elske van der Merwe in Stellenbosch in 2021.
After completing their studies, both Dawid and Elske worked in Namibia, mainly in the commercial and industrial sector. Since returning to South Africa in 2017, Elske has also gained experience in high end residential projects at Slee & Co. Architects. Dawid focused on the health sector on the southern coast as well as corporate projects in Cape Town.
Their previous experience obtained working in different types of offices have expanded their skill set in such a way that they are equipped to work on fast-track development projects as well as more personal, highly detailed projects. Their shared love for traveling and the outdoors allow them to take on any project, no matter how far from home.
Currently their projects are distributed all over the country, with their focus being the Cape Winelands, the West Coast as well as Mpumalanga.
